I don't really care for this time of year. I certainly can't be the only one, right? Perhaps it's just my family, but I find the holidays stressful. So very expensive, too! I have absolutely no idea what children like, so I don't know what to buy for my nieces and nephew. I've tried books, but they're not the bookish sort. It's getting to be so late, but I've been so busy with the communication system.

I do like New Year's! It's a great time to evaluate your goals.

As much as I approve of the Ministry's new program, I was rather displeased with some of the interns. One was very cold, despite the fact that I tried very hard to make her feel welcome. If I had been given this opportunity back then I would have been eager to learn all that I could. Another girl had a very negative attitude. I have to admit that I'm happy to be working with adults again.

Like everyone else, I've come across the puffskeins. There was a note on one of them demanding things like that the Ban on Experimental Breeding be repealed. I can't imagine that this is going to make people look fondly on such practices. Research & Technology been so busy lately, for obvious reasons, that I haven't actually been able to really use the product we've been working on. I suppose this is as good a time of any to ask about how Ministry employees feel about the network. Technical support is there for problems you're having - though we have fixed quite a few of them already - but this is more a query about what you think you'll use it for, what you like about them, what you dislike about them. That sort of thing. This is mostly for my own curiosity, and it isn't official in any way. For the record, I already know how some of you feel about the colour of the books, so comments on the subject are not necessary.

Since everyone is sharing their thoughts on Take Your Son and/or Daughter to Work Day, I'll note that I'm rather terrible with children. I was even as a child. However, I think the tradition is a good one, in that it motivates children to think about their futures and career paths. Still, don't be surprised if you find me trying to avoid them.
